About BBFT
BattleBorn Fight Team started MMA training in Reno in 2003 in the basement of an old house in central Reno. Home to Richard Montoya and his family, The Dungeon (as it came to be known) doubled as the place where guys came to get down.
BBFT got its name from the state of Nevada’s motto. Since it became a state during the civil war to give its silver to the Union, Nevada’s motto is “Battle Born.”
Our fighters train and fight because it’s what we were born to do. We live, breathe, eat, and sleep anything having to do with fighting. We’re not brawlers, getting into fights at bars or anything. We just love to combat with other fighters to see how our skills match.
The logo we use - no weapons - means a lot to BBFT fighters. We don’t need weapons to win fights because we use our brains and our bodies.
Please come by and check out a training session. You’ll see that we’re not like the other MMA gyms in Reno. We are rough and tough and come in to do work.
